We're looking for friendly, attentive, and organised people to join our Permit Room Bar‑Cafe team in Brighton. The role is part of our Front of House Team / Food Runner / Bar Support.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver large trays of food and drink to guests, including handling special requests such as allergies, and ensure that the shift runs smoothly.
  • Act as a bartender’s right hand, anticipating their needs during busy shifts.
  • Learn bartending specifications from day one and shadow senior cocktail bartenders.
  • Work in a very large and busy environment, often with high step counts, and adapt to a fast‑paced service.
  • Provide support and maintain excellent service in a high‑volume setting.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of hospitality or related work experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn about food, drink, bar operations and to look after guests and teammates.
  • Flexible schedule, available to work across 5 days a week, including weekends.

  • Competitive hourly rate of £15.70 (inclusive of tronc) paid monthly; tax deducted at source.
  • Full‑time role with a variety of daytime and evening shifts – no typical late‑night schedule.
  • Weekly rota given at least six days in advance; the site is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
  • Flexible and fair holiday policy, paid at the usual rate, with extra day for parents on first day of school.
  • No uniform required – smart casual and comfortable footwear is acceptable.
