The successful applicant will join one of the UK’s largest providers of first-class care and assisted living. The ethos is about quality of life for both clients and staff, with a wide range of company benefits and proven progression opportunities.
This high-quality care home caters for up to 70 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinners, all made fresh in-house, including cakes and pastries. A knowledge of basic bakery is a must.
You will work within a 3-person team, alongside a 2nd Junior Sous Chef and Head Chef. The kitchen is well supplied, and you will contribute to designing fresh food menus, supported by industry-leading compliance procedures.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Minimum 3 years working as a chef in a fresh food setting
- Comfortable being customer-facing, requiring consultation with patients for dietary needs
- Experience working in a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures, including COSHH and food safety standards
- Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
- Experience working with fresh seasonal produce
- Baking & cake making skills
