An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at a highly regarded country gastro pub and restaurant with rooms , set in a stunning location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
This is a fantastic role for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, seasonal produce and wants to be part of a kitchen focused on quality, consistency and classic British cooking with a modern approach.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to lead and develop the brigade while maintaining high standards across all services.
The kitchen works extensively with locally sourced Yorkshire produce , creating seasonal menus covering à la carte dining, lunches, traditional Sunday roasts and private events.
The Role Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Help lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
Maintain consistently high standards of food and presentation
Work with quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients
Assist with menu development and daily specials
Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
Maintain excellent food hygiene, stock control and kitchen standards
Help ensure a smooth and organised service
The Ideal Sous Chef We are looking for a strong Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career.
You should have experience within a quality gastro pub, restaurant or country hotel environment , with a genuine passion for fresh food and seasonal British cooking.
You'll need to be a hands-on chef, comfortable working as part of a close-knit brigade and capable of helping lead the kitchen during busy services.
