This high quality care home in a leafy rural village caters for up to 35 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinners, all made fresh in house, including all cakes and pastries, so a knowledge of basic bakery is a must.
Working within a 2 chef team alongside the Head Chef, everything is set up here to allow you to succeed, from the well supplied kitchen to the fresh food menus which you will contribute to designing, to the industry leading support and compliance procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years working as a chef in a fresh food setting
- Comfortable being customer facing as the role requires consultation with patients for dietary needs
- Experience working in a team in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards
- Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication
- Working with fresh seasonal produce
- Baking & cake making skills
- Own means of transport would be ideal due to location
