As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in making every night safe, comfortable, and meaningful for the people we support. Together, we’ll make a real difference – for them, and for you.
About the role
This service is a beautiful house with lovely gardens, situated in Cheddar and is home to 13 people we support – 10 in the main house, and 3 in self‑contained flats. The people we support here tend to be older and have varying needs. This role will include supporting people through the night alongside a second member of staff who would be doing a sleep in.
Tasks include:
- Checking on people through the night and providing support
- Doing laundry, ironing, general cleaning
- Helping with paperwork
- Ensuring everything is ready for their day in the morning
Every night, you’ll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support. Your role will include:
- Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe
- Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible
- Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night
- Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them
- Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect
