Discovery are currently looking for Support Workers to join our team in Somerton! At Discovery, we’re proud to support people across Somerset and Cornwall to live the lives they choose. When you join us, you’re not just starting a new job — you’re becoming part of a friendly, dedicated team that puts people at the heart of everything we do. You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a real difference every single day, and in return we’ll make sure your career can be the best it can be through excellent training, development opportunities and colleague benefits.

There’s no such thing as a “typical” Support Worker here. Our teams are made up of people from all backgrounds — from school leavers who want to start a meaningful career, to those looking for a change, to experienced support workers who want to work somewhere that genuinely values the people it supports. What connects every one of them is a shared motivation: the desire to help people live well, learn new things, and take steps towards greater independence.

Our support workers don’t see what they do as “just another job” — they see it as a chance to brighten someone’s day, champion someone’s choices, and be part of moments that matter. Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.

About the role: Bradley View is a lively and welcoming home supporting six ladies and one gentleman aged from their 30s to 60s. With a wide mix of needs – from people who are quite independent to others with profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and dysphasia – every day offers something different. As a Support Worker, you’ll help each person live the life they choose. This includes full personal care, supporting with hoists and wheelchairs, and providing 2:1 or 1:1 assistance where required. You’ll also encourage independence, build confidence and support people to enjoy the things that make them happy.

Bradley View is often buzzing with activity. Interests range from Cliff Richard to Harry Potter, and you may find yourself heading out on National Trust trips, theatre visits or helping plan seasonal celebrations like Christmas and Halloween. With a wide range of communication styles, you’ll take time to understand how each person expresses themselves so you can offer truly person-centred support. Shift patterns include: 7am – 2/3pm, 8am – 3pm, 2pm – 10pm + sleep ins, same shift patterns, long days and alternate weekend.

About you: You don’t need previous experience to become a great Support Worker — what matters most is your attitude. We’re looking for people who are patient, positive, kind and genuinely motivated to help others live well. If you’re someone who listens, encourages independence, enjoys being part of an active team and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be someone who values dignity, choice and inclusion, and who brings calmness, resilience and creativity to your work — whether that’s helping with personal care, supporting communication, joining someone for a favourite activity, or enabling someone to feel safe and confident throughout their day.

Training, Development and Career Opportunities: Working for Discovery is rewarding, meaningful and offers genuine career progression. Within your first 12 weeks, we’ll fund and support you to complete the Care Certificate, which is essential for anyone working in health and social care. You’ll have access to a wide range of online and face-to-face training, including specialist courses tailored to the needs of the people you support. Through our City & Guilds accredited qualification centre, you can work towards diplomas and recognised qualifications — and in some cases earn a financial bonus on completion. Our Learning Connect online platform gives you access to extensive training pathways so you can continue developing your skills throughout your career with us.

Rewards that make a difference: A competitive payrate with uplift for overtime you chose to work, flexible shift patterns to suit your needs, 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata), opportunities for career progression, a salary advance scheme where you can access up to 50% of the money you’ve earned before payday, high street discounts – retail and entertainment (supermarkets, hospitality, pubs, cinema etc.), life assurance and company pension, industry leading training, enhanced DBS paid for by us.

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Discovery. We welcome applications from everyone who has the right to work in the UK, and value diversity in our workforce. If a driving licence is required for this role you will need to produce a copy of the driving licence at the onboarding stage. As Disability Confident Leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy – Discovery has been awarded this symbol by Jobcentre Plus to recognise our commitment towards the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees. As part of our commitment to making reasonable adjustments we can offer support to complete your application. Please contact the Resourcing Consultant Team on 03003039150.
