In this rewarding role, you'll be supporting a fun-loving 64‑year‑old gentleman with learning disabilities and autism to live his life to the fullest. He's great company, playful, cheeky, and full of personality – a good sense of humour is essential, as he enjoys a bit of banter and light‑hearted joking once he gets to know you. He also has a special bond with his pet rabbit, Popeye, who is truly his pride and joy.
You’ll support him both at home and out in the community on a 2:1 basis, whether that’s people‑watching, enjoying trips to Penzance arcades for the 2p machines, or keeping up with his love of football and rugby. This role calls for someone who values person‑led support and has experience in Positive Behaviour Support, alongside the confidence to work independently at times. While it can be challenging, it’s equally full of meaningful, feel‑good moments where you’ll see the genuine impact of your support.

Qualifications
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Support is required.
- No previous social care experience is required, but the right values, willingness to learn, communication skills, empathy, calmness under pressure, proactive observation, and basic IT skills are essential.
- Confidence to work independently at times and support individuals in living their chosen lives is also required.
