We’re looking for an experienced Transmission Operator to join our Multi-Channel Playout Centre, supporting both Linear and Digital Playout/Streaming. In this role, you’ll help ensure consistent, high-quality output across more than 20 Entertainment and Live Sports channels in the UK and Nordic regions. Your Role Accountabilities
- Monitor and ensure quality standards and playlist continuity for multiple TV channels in close partnership with the Programming Department.
- Prepare playlists and TX suites and execute live sporting events across UK and Nordic channels.
- Proactively identify potential issues in playlists and content, amending or escalating when required.
- Maintain first-line support of services and equipment, including troubleshooting, resolution, and escalation with the Engineering Department.
- Provide timings and countdowns to external content providers for live events.
- Handle daily communication between channels and playout control, including playlist updates, live transmission preparation and graphic scheduling.
- Compile daily discrepancy reports on playout centre service and channel performance.
- Contribute to problem-solving across workflows and support ongoing process improvements.
- Train on and work within our modern broadcast system based on the newest technology.
- Ensure the professional and safe playout of 25 channels to 5 countries.
- Oversee clean, accurate, end-to-end output across 112 digital live event channels to Eurosport Player, Discovery+ and affiliate networks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in the broadcasting area, ideally in transmission and live broadcasts.
- Technical experience operating broadcast equipment, ideally iTX, FLEX AMPP and Aveco automation systems.
- Understanding of digital/streaming technologies.
- Operational experience with broadcast automation systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting, escalating and logging issues encountered.
- Willingness to work on a 24/7 shift rota, including weekends and public holidays.
Onsite Working
This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
