The Alpha Academies Trust (AAT) is seeking an experienced and motivated Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in delivering high‑quality financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control across the Trust.

Based at The Discovery Academy with travel across the Trust as required.

Key responsibilities include

  • Provide accurate financial information, analysis and advice to support effective decision‑making.
  • Maintain and develop financial reporting systems.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support financial control and internal audit activities.
  • Collaborate with Finance Director, Principals, budget holders and senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • CCAB Qualified Accountant.
  • Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyse and present financial information clearly.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Capability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ideally experience within an Academy Trust, education, charity or public sector environment.

Additional requirement: The ability to converse with members of the public, staff and students in accurate spoken English is essential.

Benefits: Successful applicants may be offered opportunities to progress or swap to a role as an associate teacher on the appropriate teaching pathway.

This option can be discussed at interview or during employment.

Salary: Level 11, Actual Salary £41,771 to £45,091. Permanent position, Whole year, 37 hours per week.
