We are seeking an energetic Lead Data and AI Architect to join a pioneering insurance technology firm based in the heart of the Dubai Innovation Hub. Our client has developed a sophisticated operating system that automates the entire lifecycle of the insurance process. This is a chance to join a high growth environment of 40 plus professionals dedicated to transforming the specialty insurance industry through a modern technology stack.
You will play a central role in a major Snowflake implementation and the integration of advanced AI capabilities across an SAP environment. This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of software engineering and data architecture within a forward thinking organization.
As the Lead Data and AI Architect, you will provide the technical vision and leadership for the entire data development lifecycle. You will lead a team of up to 10 engineers, focusing on the delivery of secure, high impact AI solutions. This is a hands on leadership position where you will be expected to code, build, and implement automation using tools like Claude, ML Flow, and RAG. Your goal is to bridge the gap between complex data infrastructure and practical AI applications that support internal teams and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve a cloud data architecture that supports Snowflake and SAP S4 HANA environments
- Lead and manage a direct coding team of up to 10 members while fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Develop and maintain robust pipelines for data ingestion, validation, and transformation
- Implement AI and Large Language Model solutions across the business landscape
- Drive the production of machine learning models and generative AI agents
- Oversee data governance and security practices including encryption and access management
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable technical roadmaps
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering or architecture roles
- A background in software engineering with the ability to code and build platforms
- Proven expertise with SAP HANA and Snowflake implementations
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL plus experience with AWS
- Practical experience implementing AI solutions using Claude, RAG, and ML Flow
- Experience managing and mentoring technical teams of 10 or more people
- Educational background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- An energetic and proactive approach to problem solving in an onsite innovation hub environment
