Responsibilities:

• Tackle challenging engineering problems with a strategic mindset, driving a culture that embraces experimentation and ongoing enhancement.
• Collaborate closely with Operations to ensure the product is deployable, supportable, and aligned with monitoring and maintenance requirements.
• Write functional code that aligns with architectural specifications and meets defined outcomes.
• Translate business needs into standardised technical solutions, identifying opportunities for reuse and integration to enhance efficiency and reduce delivery costs for complex projects.
• Enhance software quality by contributing to the development and upkeep of automated unit testing pipelines.
• Architect and implement innovative product functionalities, prioritising durability, high performance, scalability, and system integrity.
• Serve as a technical role model for your team, offering mentorship, enforcing development standards, and fostering team growth and productivity.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for your team’s deliverables, ensuring commitments are met with excellence and accountability.
• Oversee peer code assessments and troubleshooting activities, ensuring clean, efficient, and production-ready code.
• Review and assess code produced by external development teams, applying a consistent process to validate technical quality and alignment with project goals.

Qualifications & skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years experience in a similar role
• Solid experience using Java – 8+ years experience
• General understanding of .NET – 2+ years of experience
• Background in financial transaction systems, including payment processing and collaboration with card schemes or financial institutions.
