The Opportunity
As a Travel Specialist you will be responsible for handling school enquiries over the telephone and via e-mail, whilst dealing with the administration of your bookings. You will have the opportunity to specialise in our geography and/or language trips, based on your knowledge, experience and interest.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with teachers to ensure their pupils get the full benefit of educational travel and the opportunity to learn outside the classroom.
- Aim to achieve maximum revenue where possible for each booking by proactively up selling products such as optional activities.
- Writing and replying to various types of correspondence.
- Progressing and administering enquiries from quote to confirmed booking on the reservations system, ensuring the customer is fully informed and supported throughout the booking process.
- Regular quote follow-ups to help maximise conversion rates and to assist with feedback in relation to the non-conversion of bookings.
- Deliver presentations in schools, or more often virtually, sometimes out of office hours.
- Provide cover on the emergency phone roster.
Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm. We offer flexible hybrid working, with part of your week at our comfortable and well-appointed Dorking office and the remainder worked remotely.

Do you have a love for travel, different cultures and experiences? Do you have at least two years proven track record of sales in a similar role and/or experience of working as a teacher? If you are, you could be just what we are looking for!
Additional experience required
- Ability to tailor-make, advise and plan bespoke itineraries to a specific destination(s).
- Confident to deliver presentations, in person or virtually, to parents, teachers and students.
- High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressurised deadlines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately; good level of numeracy and excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong customer service, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Confident user of Office365.
