We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter to join a growing engineering manufacturer. Initially, your focus will be assembling high-quality bespoke machinery from engineering drawings. As your knowledge of the equipment grows, you will take on additional responsibility supporting customer trials, operating machinery within the Test Bay and working alongside customers visiting the site.

This is a genuine opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on but is ready to broaden their technical skills without leaving the workshop behind.

The Role

  • Assemble bespoke machinery from engineering drawings through to completion.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Work closely with Design Engineers to resolve assembly issues and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the build process.
  • As your experience develops, support the preparation and operation of machinery within the Test Bay.
  • Assist with customer trials and demonstrations.
  • Help prepare, modify and strip machinery between testing programmes.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve machine performance based on testing feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
