Do you thrive on keeping everything running smoothly?
Have you worked in a school, nursery group or education setting where organising staff, arranging cover and making sure the right people were in the right place was all part of your day?
Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, thinking ahead and making quick decisions when plans change?
If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We are looking for an Education Staffing Coordinator to become a key member of our operations team. This is a busy, varied role where no two days are the same. One moment you will be planning staffing for the week ahead, the next you will be responding to an unexpected absence and ensuring every setting remains fully staffed and compliant.
This is not a recruitment role. It's an operational position where you will coordinate staffing across multiple education settings, ensuring the right people are in the right place while maintaining the highest standards of EYFS and Ofsted compliance.
If you enjoy bringing order to a fast moving environment and take pride in finding solutions, this could be the perfect opportunity.
The Role
As our Education Staffing Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate the day to day deployment of staff across multiple education settings.
- Manage rotas and organise cover for planned and unplanned absences.
- Respond quickly and confidently to last minute staffing changes.
- Ensure staffing arrangements meet EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
- Liaise with managers and staff to ensure every setting is appropriately resourced.
- Maintain accurate staffing, compliance and operational records.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and develop more efficient ways of working.
About You
We are looking for someone who is naturally organised, calm under pressure and enjoys finding practical solutions.
Someone confident making decisions, ability to prioritise competing demands and comfortable working in an environment where plans can change quickly.
You won't simply react to problems. You will think ahead, anticipate potential issues and always look for better ways of working while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- A good understanding of EYFS requirements and Ofsted regulations.
- Experience coordinating staffing, workforce planning, cover or rota management within an education environment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with managers and staff.
- Strong administration and IT skills with excellent attention to detail.
This role would particularly suit someone who has worked as a:
- School Business Manager /School Office Manager
- Cover Manager /Attendance and Cover Officer
- Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager
- Education Operations Coordinator
- Workforce Planning or Staffing Coordinator within an education setting
This is an opportunity to play a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring education settings have the people they need every day. Your organisation, judgement and ability to make things happen will have a direct impact on children, colleagues and the smooth running of the business.
