This is an exciting new position for a Biotech company based out of London, looking to strengthen the senior leadership team and scientific expertise by bringing onboard a Senior Director for Pharmacology to oversee all aspects of preclinical development for biologic and small molecule drug candidates into clinical development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery teams by developing preclinical development strategies for drug candidates.
  • Team up with scientists and external collaborators to develop preclinical screening strategies for discovery programs, which will include developing and optimizing new assays.
  • Lead cross-functional discovery teams.
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation of preclinical sections of regulatory documents.
  • Integrate and optimize automation strategies.
  • Partner with the team to integrate analysis pipelines for cellular- and patient-derived data sets.
  • Establish and manage timelines, budgets, and resources for preclinical programs.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Immunology, Oncology, Cell Biology or related field.
  • 10+ years of drug development experience.
  • Extensive experience in preclinical development.
  • Experience in leading discovery project teams to advance programs from early discovery to candidate selection and IND submission.
  • Extensive knowledge of preclinical development processes, including pharmacology, toxicology, PK/PD, and translational science.
  • Hands-on experience working with 3D cellular or tissue models to support discovery efforts.
  • Expertise in developing assays to support biologic and small molecule screening, including functional genomics-based target validation platforms.
  • Proven experience managing CROs and external collaborations.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, including experience managing other managers and influencing C-Suite leaders.
