My client have the blue print for healthy immune cells with a strong focus in Oncology. They're now in need of a entrepreneurial and scientifically driven CSO who has a solid background in Oncology and have brought a cell therapy through to phase 3 clinical trials.

Alongside being extremely sound with data and the understanding biomarkers and mechanisms, this role will report directly into the CEO,

Position Overview:

As the Chief Scientific Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing all scientific research, discovery, and development initiatives related to oncology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure the company's scientific programs are aligned with strategic objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the oncology landscape and strong leadership skills to guide the scientific team towards delivering novel therapies that address unmet medical needs.

It is absolutely necessary that the person chosen have previous experience with CTA Filings!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the scientific vision and strategy for oncology research and development programs, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Research Oversight: Oversee all preclinical and translational research activities, ensuring scientific excellence in drug discovery, biomarkers, and companion diagnostics.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Foster collaboration with academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to accelerate research programs and bring innovative therapies to market.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a world-class team of scientists and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Innovation and Pipeline Expansion: Identify new scientific opportunities and technologies to expand the company’s oncology pipeline, with a focus on developing first-in-class and best-in-class therapies.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Provide scientific leadership and support for regulatory submissions, including INDs, NDAs, and BLAs.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the oncology research budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present scientific strategy and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and key opinion leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Immunologist PhD
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in oncology research and drug development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading successful oncology R&D programs from discovery through clinical development.
  • Strong understanding of the current oncology landscape, including immuno-oncology, targeted therapies, and precision medicine.
  • Experience with regulatory processes and submissions in oncology drug development
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
