We are supporting a Life Sciences organisation in the UK looking to engage a Data Scientist on a 12-month contract to support work across clinical trials and clinical development. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys applying data science to real-world clinical questions, helping teams generate better insight from trial data and improve decision-making across study design, execution and analysis.
You will work closely with stakeholders across clinical, biostatistics, data management, programming and wider technology teams, applying advanced analytics and machine learning to support trial delivery and evidence generation.
What you will be doing:
- Applying data science and statistical modelling approaches to clinical trial and clinical development datasets
- Working with structured and unstructured clinical data to generate insight and support decision-making
- Supporting use cases across areas such as patient stratification, trial optimisation, site performance, enrolment forecasting, risk detection and operational analytics
- Building robust analytical workflows, models and data pipelines
- Collaborating with clinical, data and technical stakeholders to translate business and scientific questions into practical solutions
- Presenting outputs and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist within Life Sciences, Biotech, CRO or Pharmaceutical environments
- Strong Python and applied machine learning experience
- Experience working with clinical trial, RWD/RWE, patient, operational or healthcare datasets
- Strong grounding in statistics, modelling and data interpretation
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across Clinical, Biometrics, Data Management and Technology
- Experience supporting clinical development, trial operations or study analytics would be highly beneficial
Nice to have:
- Experience with tools such as Python, SQL, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn or similar
- Familiarity with CDISC standards such as SDTM or ADaM
- Exposure to time-to-event analysis, patient journey analytics or predictive modelling in clinical settings
- Experience working in GxP or regulated environments
