We are supporting a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing site and looking for an Automation Engineer to support manufacturing operations across production, packaging, utilities and site improvement projects.

Provide automation and controls support across manufacturing and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA and control system issues to minimise downtime. Support fault finding, root cause analysis and equipment performance improvement. Work on automation upgrades, line improvements, obsolescence projects and small CAPEX initiatives. Modify and maintain PLC/HMI software in line with site change control procedures. Support automated systems linked to batching, mixing, filling, labelling, inspection and packaging.

Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Validation and external vendors. Ensure automation work is completed in line with GMP, EHS and data integrity expectations. Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification and handover of new or upgraded equipment.

Automation or controls engineering experience within pharmaceutical, FMCG, chemical, food, personal care or regulated manufacturing. Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems and industrial networks. Experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley/Rockwell automation platforms would be highly relevant. Good understanding of automated production, filling, packaging, labelling, inspection or process equipment. Ability to fault-find across electrical, controls and instrumentation systems. Experience working in a GMP, hygienic or regulated manufacturing environment. Understanding of change control, documentation, risk assessments and validation principles.
