Mechanical biased with Electrical experience

Location: Blackburn

Shift: 4 on 4 off rotating days/nights (6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am)

Salary: Circa £53,500 + bonus + annual pay reviews + career progression

We are searching for two hands-on Maintenance Engineers to join a global industrial manufacturing operation based in Blackburn. This is a multi-skilled role that is mechanically biased, although some electrical knowledge is essential, particularly around safety, isolation and supporting fault diagnosis across the site.

This opportunity suits a Maintenance Engineer who has built their experience working directly on heavy industrial equipment and enjoys being on the tools, solving problems and taking ownership rather than following a purely process-driven maintenance routine. Your positive approach, supportive nature and drive to succeed and develop further in your career will be a key focus throughout the recruitment process. Cultural and behavioural fit is hugely important, with the business placing real value on teamwork, attitude and collaboration.

The Maintenance Engineers work across a varied plant environment including:

  • Rotating equipment
  • Large motors and gearboxes
  • Pumps
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Temperature control systems
  • Raw material handling systems
  • Bespoke industrial machinery

About the business: They adopt a strong preventative maintenance culture; however, reactive fault finding remains a key part of the role. We are looking for engineers who can diagnose faults methodically, identify root causes and drive solutions through to completion. This global business genuinely invests in its people and offers long-term development opportunities within a supportive and collaborative engineering team.

About you:

  • Strong mechanical maintenance background within heavy industry or manufacturing
  • Ability to fault find across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Confident using your engineering judgement
  • Maintenance Engineer who takes ownership and works proactively
  • Positive approach with strong communication skills
  • Team player who enjoys supporting colleagues cross-functionally
  • Keen to develop technically and contribute to continuous improvement activity

If this sounds aligned with your experience and approach, I would welcome a conversation to discuss the role in more detail.
