Astute's Renewables Team is partnering exclusively with one of the largest producers of biogas in the UK Anaerobic Digestion market, who are looking for an Assistant Plant Manager for their site located in County Durham. The Assistant Plant Manager role comes with an excellent salary, bonus, company pension, death in service and additional benefits. Responsibilities and duties
- Supervise the operations crew on the anaerobic digestion plant on a day to day basis
- Support the Plant Manager to implement and achieve operational and personal targets
- Oversee and ensure the compliant operation of the asset
- Be the conduit between the operations team and the Site Manager
- Deputise for the Plant Manager in their absence
- Assist with ensuring that operational budgets and forecasting is accurate, in order for it to be reported to senior management
- Perform continual site audits to ensure that the site is running to an excellent standard and always looking for ways to improve site operations
- Perform all duties an Operator would, leading from the front and upskilling and mentoring the team where possible
- Feeding the plant using a Telehandler
- Be the backup for the on-call rota
- Other duties as required
Professional qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
- A recognised Engineering qualification is desired but not essential
- WAMITAB is desired
Personal skills
- Experience in managing/supervising a team of Operators/Engineers
- Understanding of PAS110
- Experience working in the anaerobic digestion sector or a similar processing environment such as water/effluent treatment, energy from waste etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Budget planning and monitoring experience
- Strong leadership skills and happy to be hands-on
