Disaster Care Platinum provides a specialist restoration service, trusted for all levels of insurance claims, including: Standard and Bespoke properties, High value insurance claims, High Net Worth and Technically Complex Projects. This role would be home based with travel to office when required. We are building a specialised property and home services platform built entirely to support and scale Disaster Care called Abodio. We provide the digital workflow that manages complex flood and fire restoration processes on behalf of major insurance networks, as well as private B2C clients. We are looking for a hands-on Product Owner to own the lifecycle of our platform features. Because we operate as a lean team, you will bridge the gap between high-level operational requirements and user execution—owning both the agile backlog and the creation of user interfaces using Figma.
Responsibilities
- Backlog & Feature Ownership: Take full ownership of the Abodio product backlog, translating end-to-end property restoration requirements into detailed epics, user stories, and rigorous acceptance criteria.
- Hands-On UI/UX Design: Utilise Figma to map out intuitive user flows, functional wireframes, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes. You will ensure the interface is highly clean, accessible, and scannable for field technicians operating on-site, claims handlers evaluating costs, and stressed policyholders tracking progress.
- Operational Collaboration: Spend time on the ground with the Disaster Care team and industry loss adjusters to map out real-world restoration bottlenecks, compliance constraints, and validation requirements.
- Sprint Architecture: Partner closely with our engineering team to lead sprint planning, refinement sessions, and stand-ups, ensuring technical clarity and a sustainable, high-velocity delivery pace.
- Value-Driven Prioritisation: Manage the product roadmap, prioritising features that actively shorten claim lifecycles, eliminate operational duplication, and directly drive up customer satisfaction metrics.
Requirements
- Product Management Experience: Proven experience successfully managing an agile product backlog within a fast-paced software development or startup environment or deep experience of the Insurance sector and a desire to move into Product.
- Figma Proficiency: Ideally some practical capability with Figma (or similar), demonstrating the ability to build structured user journeys, wireframes, and maintain a functional UI component library. If you’ve not done this before but are up for learning – that’s good for us.
- Insurance or Claims Insight: Direct experience within InsurTech, claims handling, or property management sectors is highly advantageous. We are completely open to someone newer to the formal PO title provided they possess a deep, instinctive understanding of the insurance landscape.
- Communication & Constructive Friction: Superb communication skills with the confidence to challenge technical or operational assumptions and offer data-backed alternatives.
- Cultural Alignment: A commitment to executing high-quality work while actively championing our company values of a supportive team culture and genuine work/life balance.
