We are now on a journey of expansion into new categories within spirits and also into previously untapped channels of distribution. The area of Prestige/Specialist Retail forms a key element of building our portfolio in the UK.

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive distribution of the DIUK portfolio within the Prestige / Off-Trade channel, including specialist retailers, caviste-style operators, and independent stores.
  • Execute best-in-class in-store activation to maximize brand visibility, including tastings, sampling events, and display features (e.g. barrel tops), with occasional weekend work required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, groups, and decision-makers across the channel.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase distribution.
  • Travel across the UK to manage accounts, drive listings, and ensure high-quality execution in selected outlets.
  • Support the successful launch of new product development (NPD) while protecting and growing core range distribution and sales.
  • Collaborate closely with Trade Marketing to develop and implement effective activation plans.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing to maximize e-commerce and online opportunities with relevant customers.
  • Manage allocations of limited-release products across the customer base.
  • Develop and manage an efficient journey plan to optimize customer coverage and time in trade.
  • Use Salesforce CRM to plan activity, track KPIs, and report performance against targets.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly customer performance, providing insights and driving actions to deliver incremental growth.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and stay informed on market trends across beer, wine, and spirits.

Background and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or related field within the UK On/Off Trade.
  • Basic knowledge and passion for Spirits.
  • Experience of spirits industry / key independent whisky retailers would be advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial and ambitious self-starter with the ability to achieve targets and effectively organise own work schedule.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong commercial/financial understanding, together with intellect and curiosity to interpret performance, recommending appropriate actions.
  • Ability to manage projects and multi-task whilst building strong and positive relationships at all levels (internal and external).
  • Able to build strong commercial relationships.
  • Able to flourish with minimal guidance, being proactive and able to handle uncertainty.
