Lead Collections Move Technician (viewed14 times)

CompanyName: Museum of London

JobLocation: London

JobStatus: Full Time

We have embarked on an extraordinary journey to create a new museum for London. The London Museum will sit in atmospheric former market buildings, at the heart of one of the capitals most historic and creative quarters, Smithfield. The New Museum project is one of the largest cultural projects in Europe and will transform the Museum, Smithfield and the City of London.

London Museum has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Collections Move Technician, with an excellent understanding of art handling and museum technical services, coupled with the ability to provide expert advice and solve complex technical problems.

Working with a dedicated decant team and based at London Museum Stores in Hackney, with travel between sites as required, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work on the preparation and large-scale collections move project, sharing your experience of collections packing, object handling, and management of Museum Technicians to achieve the high standards that the project requires.

We are looking for a committed and proactive individual with experience in working with museum collections to join our team of collections management professionals working to achieve a complex move and installation programme. We are looking for someone with line management experience with a good awareness of how to create and maintain a positive working environment in a deadline driven and fast-paced environment.

London Museum is committed to equal opportunities and diversity. We particularly welcome applications from people from Global Majority backgrounds and disabled people, who are currently under-represented in our organisation.
