London Museum is about to open a bold new chapter at Smithfield. The spaces will be new, audiences will be arriving and an ambitious programme of public events, late-night takeovers, commercial hires and development events will already be moving. The foundations are in place; now we need someone to bring them to life.

We’re looking for an experienced and decisive Event Operations Lead to head up the operational event planning and live delivery across our museum estate. You’ll embed our new events framework, bring teams together and develop a confident operation that can deliver safely, consistently and at scale.

You’ll have substantial experience of leading events in a complex, high-footfall or multi-space venue. You’ll be a strong people leader who can develop managers, create clear accountability and turn health and safety, fire safety, licensing and regulatory requirements into practical event plans.

Previous museum experience and academic qualifications are not required. We’re looking for someone to see the whole picture, coordinate competing demands and make calm, credible decisions when the pressure is on.

London Museum is committed to being an equitable and inclusive employer, and to becoming representative of the diversity of London. We particularly welcome applications from people from Global Majority backgrounds, who are currently under‑represented in our organisation. We also welcome applications from disabled people, as we’re a Disability Confident Leader and are committed to recruiting, retaining and developing disabled people.
