Administrator – Sail‑Scheduling Team

We provide 'safe & affordable sailing' for disabled members.

Our team of 2–3 volunteers coordinates scheduling and acts as the interface between sailing crew and disabled members.

This role is a fun customer service position on a week‑on, week‑off schedule.

What Difference Will You Make?

We operate two 38‑ft yachts, DSA Freedom and DSA Free Spirit 2, which sail up to seven days a week, weather permitting.

You will work closely with the crew to ensure scheduling is accurate, all disabled needs are met, appropriate sail support is booked, and all parties are kept informed and updated.

What Are We Looking For?

This administration role involves

  • Checking sail request emails and answering them during the day on a daily basis, on a rota, working alternate weeks only.
  • Allocating names onto our sailing calendar and sending out sail confirmations on a daily basis, using Team Up, MS Excel and MS Word.

We are looking for someone who is empathetic, has good organisational skills, and is proficient with Word and Excel and can add information into spreadsheets.

Good communication and writing skills are required – able to discuss sailing requirements with our members via telephone, text and email.

The Job Hours

This role is a split post – one week on and one week off, and also covers holidays.

The role should be approximately 10–14 hours every other week (around 2 hours a day split between morning and afternoon).

Laptop can be provided. Hybrid position.

What Will You Be Doing?

We have approximately 150 disabled members and a similar number of crew and sail supporters.

Our Sail Scheduling Team is the nerve centre of our operation, ensuring that places are booked on sails and any special needs accommodated.

If weather forces cancellation, all parties are advised in a timely fashion.

This is a customer‑facing role that becomes very rewarding when you receive thanks and testimonials.

This is a team member role, not a trustee role.
