The Strategic Development Lead sits alongside the existing Producer, Communications Lead and wider Support Worker team, providing a complementary layer of strategic thinking, opportunity sourcing and long-term planning.

This role exists to help the Creative Professional and wider team identify opportunities, connect ideas, develop strategic pathways and maintain oversight of the bigger picture; across the Creative Professionals career in performance, writing & composition within theatre, radio, screen and more.

The Strategic Development Lead acts as a trusted thinking partner, helping to identify where projects, partnerships, commissions, publications, productions, media opportunities and future ambitions intersect. They will see the Creative Professional as a whole artist, across disciplines, understanding how they all link. They support the Creative Professional and wider team to recognise leverage points, prioritise high-level activity and create coherent pathways for growth, visibility, sustainability and impact.

This role is not responsible for producing projects, delivering communications campaigns or managing PR activity. Instead, it exists to strengthen and support those functions through strategic oversight, opportunity sourcing/creation and long-term thinking.

The postholder must hold and amplify the artist’s established public legacy without prompting; able to recognise and communicate the scale of their existing national profile with accuracy and pride, whilst consistently identifying and pushing the team towards suitable new opportunities.
