About the Role

We are looking for a Development Coordinator to support and develop Outside Edge Theatre Company’s fundraising and income generation.

Working closely with the Artistic Director/CEO, Trustees and external consultants, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of fundraising activity, with a particular focus on trust and foundation fundraising, individual giving, corporate relationships, supporter communications and donor stewardship.

This is a newly created role and we welcome applications from candidates interested in taking their first steps in a career in fundraising. Training, strategic support and development opportunities will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Management

  • – Research, prepare and write high-quality applications to trusts and foundations.
  • – Identify new funding opportunities and manage application deadlines.
  • – Coordinate funder acknowledgements, monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • – Support the development of statutory contracts and restricted project funding.

Individual & Major Giving

  • – Support the implementation of a new individual and major giving strategy.
  • – Analyse donor data to identify engagement and fundraising opportunities.
  • – Develop fundraising campaigns, donor events and personalised supporter communications.
  • – Lead supporter stewardship and cultivation events.
  • – Develop targeted content and approaches for high-net-worth individuals and corporate partners.

Corporate & Challenge Events

  • – Support the implementation of the corporate and challenge events strategy.
  • – Develop and deliver challenge events.
  • – Build relationships with corporate partners and sponsors.
  • – Support social media and community engagement to recruit challenge event fundraisers.

Communications & Administration

  • – Oversee the monthly supporter newsletter and other fundraising communications.
  • – Update donor communications, website and promotional materials.
  • – Maintain accurate Gift Aid, income and expenditure and fundraising records.
  • – Keep the development database up to date and use Salesforce and Mailchimp effectively.
  • – Ensure fundraising systems and procedures are effective and GDPR compliant.
  • – Prepare fundraising reports and keep up to date with fundraising and charity sector developments.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • – An interest in fundraising or supporter engagement, gained through paid work, volunteering or other relevant experience.
  • – Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt communications for different audiences and platforms.
  • – Experience in an administrative, fundraising, customer service or similar role.
  • – Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
  • – Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with a wide range of people, including public speaking.
  • – Good IT skills; CRM experience is desirable.
  • – The ability to analyse data and identify trends.
  • – A positive, inspiring and collaborative approach.
  • – A passion and commitment to arts with social inclusion at its core.
  • – The ability to manage a varied workload in a busy, fast-changing environment.
  • – A willingness to meet the requirements of Outside Edge’s Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.
  • – A willingness to support marketing and promotional activity.
