We are looking for a reliable and well-organised Team Leader to join a small, established team supporting a young man with complex needs in his own home. He is active and sociable, and requires consistent, well-judged support to remain safe and maintain his independence. This is a hands-on role, working alongside the team while also maintaining clear oversight of how support is delivered. You will act as a link between the family and the team — ensuring agreed approaches are followed in practice, maintaining consistency, and feeding back clearly on what is working well and where adjustments are needed. You will not be working alone; this is a structured team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Work as part of the team delivering day-to-day support
- Maintain oversight to ensure care is consistent, appropriate, and supports independence
- Help establish and sustain clear routines that reduce uncertainty
- Keep records accurate and up to date
- Act as a clear point of accountability within the team
- Communicate regularly with the family, including raising concerns and sharing updates
Experience required
- Experience in care, including some responsibility for guiding or supporting others
- Confident with moving and handling (including hoist use), medication administration, and epilepsy awareness
- Working understanding of the Mental Capacity Act in practice
- Able to organise workload and follow through reliably
- Comfortable working within a family-led structure
Personal qualities
- Calm, consistent, and reliable, with good attention to detail and the ability to take responsibility and see things through.
- This is a practical, team-based role suited to someone who can combine day-to-day support with maintaining clear structure and consistency across the team.
This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
