Are you a warm, caring individual with a passion for making a positive difference in someone’s life? Do you possess resilience, patience, and a positive attitude? Do you have experience supporting individuals with a learning disability in their home and community? If so, we’re looking for someone just like you to join our team as a Support Worker/Personal Assistant.

About the Role:

I am seeking a kind, caring, and experienced individual to support my son, who is in his early 30s. My son loves trips in the car and to the countryside. We would like to incorporate other activities into his schedule, especially those involving green spaces and autism-friendly environments with tailored sensory input. He enjoys going for coffee and cake at the local café and visiting the seaside. Increasing his community access would benefit him greatly. He can walk short distances and uses a wheelchair as needed for comfort and safety.

You will support all aspects of his care, learning to recognize his needs and providing guidance, reassurance, and supervision to ensure his safety at home and in the community. He can become overwhelmed by large crowds and certain sensory stimuli, which you will learn to identify and manage to prevent triggers. This role involves working as part of a team on a 2:1 basis and occasionally 1:1. You must be physically fit for this role.

At the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK and an up-to-date DBS check.
