Hours: 3 hours x 2 weekly and 6.5 hours x 2 weekly holiday time

Location: Southwest Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne

Rates of pay: £15.00 per hour

Child Profile: Daniel is a delightful happy 13-year-old lad with a great smile who lives with his dad in the west end of Newcastle. He loves being active and likes to be out and about and enjoys going to the beach, trampolining, swimming, and going to the park especially being on the swings. Daniel also loves travelling on public transport whether it’s the buses or the Metro. He is a big fan of water and is happiest spending time in his hot tub at home. Daniel is very stimulated with cause-and-effect games; for example, when at the beach he loves to throw stones in the water just to see the splash. Daniel has epilepsy which occurs in clusters and training will be provided to pre-empt these. He also has vestibular sensory balance which simply makes him feel as if he is at sea constantly. He is non-verbal, but he understands what you say and claps to communicate. Daniel has no awareness of danger, and the PAs will constantly need to be vigilant when with him and on occasions use his reins.

Desired Attributes: Enthusiastic with a genuine interest and enjoyment in working with children, some experience working with disabled children. A car driver in this role would be preferred but not essential and mileage would be reimbursed.
