The role is to drive a 50ish year-old man with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis who relies on an electric wheelchair to the gym and social appointments. Usually going to:
- Benmar House, Choppington Rd, Morpeth NE61 2HX
- Leadgate Community Centre, Plantation Street, Leadgate, County Durham, DH8 7PP
We also meet up with other MS folk on the 1st Tuesday of the month at:
- The Jolly Drovers, Pont Rd, Leadgate, Consett DH8 6RR
I already have two PAs but need another to work 3 hours on Fridays and 2 hours on Saturdays and to cover for the existing PA’s holidays etc.
A clean driving licence is required and the ability to drive a WAV converted VW Caddy automatic.
A dog walker is essential as Alice, a small Bichon/Cavalier cross, who does not cast any hair tends to come along for the ride.
A sense of humour is very much required and a common-sense approach to any help that is needed.
Work hours are usually 12 – 5 mostly weekdays and a few hours on a Saturday.
