Personal Assistant (PA)

Location: Heaton, Newcastle

Hours of work: 12 - 16 hours per week and overnight support. Hours are flexible and mutually agreed.

Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour

Driver essential.

Job Purpose

The role is to assist a young person in accessing community activities according to his interests, and may involve some personal care. The position provides 12–16 hours a week plus overnight support, working alongside another PA or a parent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the young person in planning and attending community activities.
  • Provide personal care support as required.
  • Offer daytime and overnight support within the specified hours.
  • Collaborate with other PA or parent to ensure consistent support.

Requirements

  • Must have permission to work in the UK.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS (conditional upon satisfactory references and DBS checks).
  • Driver essential (must possess a valid driving licence).

About the young person

He is a high‑energy young person with autism, ADHD and Smith Marshall syndrome. He enjoys gaming on PS5, boxing lessons, darts, golf, pool, and basketball. He has two puppies, Dotty and Quinny. Familiarity with his interests and a supportive approach are essential.
