Location: Heaton, Newcastle

Hours of Work: 12‑16 hours per week with overnight support. Hours are flexible and to be mutually agreed.

Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour

Driver: Essential. Valid UK driving licence is required.

Job Purpose: The role involves providing personal assistance to a young person, facilitating access to community activities based on his interests. Some personal care duties may be required. Work will be on a 2:1 basis, alongside another PA or one of the young person’s parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the young person in accessing community activities and events.
  • Provide overnight support as necessary.
  • Support the young person with personal care tasks, when required.
  • Work cooperatively with another PA or the parents on a 2:1 support ratio.

Qualifications:

  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness and availability to work 12‑16 hours per week, including overnight support.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
  • Experience or interest in working with young people with autism, ADHD or similar conditions is desirable.

About the Child: He is a young person with a diagnosis of autism, ADHD and Smith‑Magenis syndrome. He enjoys gaming (particularly FIFA on PS5), boxing, darts, golf, pool and basketball. He has two puppies, Dotty and Quinny.

Employment Conditions: At the time of starting, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the United Kingdom.
