The predicted salary is between 10 - 12 £ per hour.

Hours: Monday – Friday: 2.5 hours per day, Saturday: 6 hours (can specify availability during interview)

Location: South Tyneside

Rates of pay: Age-related national minimum wage, up to £12.90 per hour

Holidays: 5.6 weeks pro rata per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 23-year-old young man with a moderate learning disability, Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges, and generalised anxiety disorder. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing tailored support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and confidence.

As a Personal Assistant, you will:

  • Support emotional regulation and help manage behaviours in a calm, understanding manner.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in meaningful activities, both at home and in the community.
  • Build confidence and independence within a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide companionship and reassurance to help reduce anxiety and improve well-being.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be empathetic, patient, and adaptable to individual needs.
  • Have experience or understanding of autism, ADHD, and mental health conditions (training will be provided if required).
  • Be an effective communicator, able to build trust and positive relationships.
  • Be reliable, organised, and resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Hold a valid driving licence (preferred but not essential).
