Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one personal assistance to Benjamin, supporting daily living tasks including domestic tasks (laundry, bed changing) and personal care.
  • Support and encourage engagement in the community, accompany Benjamin to appointments, and assist with making and attending appointments as needed.
  • Accompany Benjamin on weekly shopping trips to the local supermarket and post office, assisting with purchasing and budgeting as required.
  • Monitor, record, and prompt taking prescribed medications if applicable, in line with any medical guidance.
  • Support Benjamin to explore local gym activities or classes (e. g., Pilates) and accompany him to encouraged activities to improve physical well-being.
  • Manage anxiety episodes with sensitivity and respect, supporting re-engagement when Benjamin is ready.
  • Provide a supportive environment to monitor mental health needs and respond appropriately to changes in mood or behavior.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and ADHD in a one-to-one setting.
  • Ability to work with individuals who experience anxiety and depression, including de-escalation and supportive engagement techniques.
  • Ability to accompany and assist with appointments, errands, and community activities; reliable, patient, and respectful approach.
  • Good observational skills to monitor health needs and report concerns to appropriate parties as required.
  • Permission to work in the U. K. at start of employment.
