We are currently looking for an experienced personal assistant to support a young boy who has complex health needs. Nathan is non-verbal, wears a hearing aid and has heart issues, global delay development, mobility issues and genetic complex issues. He is currently PEG fed but is in the process of being introduced to oral feeding and has a stoma bag in place that needs regular attention to keep it emptied and clean. Due to his complex needs, Nathan has no awareness of danger and always requires full supervision.
Nathan currently attends a specialist school where he has adapted well but he would love a personal assistant who can provide personal care and support within the family home where he lives with his parents and sibling, with the scope of accompanying him to venture into the community in the warmer weather and support his mum to get him engaged in activities within the family home.
Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential and a clean current UK licence is required as you will be required to drive. Some domestic tasks may be required in this role relating to meal preparation and medication, but full training will be provided on these tasks.
For more information, please see the vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
