Position Overview
This is a long-term, permanent role for the successful nomination. Availability begins at 4 hours per week and is expected to increase. The role requires the ability to work weekends, bank holidays, evenings and be flexible with hours.
Legal and Occupational Requirements
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male or female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1‑4.
Essential Responsibilities
- Act as a Personal Assistant and Carer, stepping in as needed when duties become overwhelming.
- Maintain a clean and tidy home, assist in opening mail deliveries and support tasks outside the home such as grocery and essentials shopping.
- Support with emotional well-being, encourage independence and ensure comfort and happiness at all times.
- Accompany the employer to workshops, professional development events, tradeshows, appointments and leisure trips for mental wellbeing.
- Assist with safety in the kitchen, hand-washing art textiles and delicate laundry items.
Additional Requirements
- Must be a high-calibre Islamic individual, courteous, polite, high moral integrity, outstanding hygiene and understanding of the religious obligations.
- Must be a driver with a motor vehicle, as public transport is not an option.
- Must be able to think on their feet, remain calm under pressure, meet tight deadlines and turn up on short notice.
- Must be culturally sensitive, ideally able to adopt the position of a fellow traveller and companion.
Training and Experience
No previous experience is necessary; training will be provided. At the time of starting employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
Working Conditions
During a season of expansion and great change, the role will evolve as the employer moves into their first home, becoming wholly independent. Responsibilities will augment in number and become increasingly varied.
