Overview
Part-time Personal Assistants (PAs) required to provide personal and domestic support for a disabled woman who is a wheelchair user. The post is to provide support in the woman’s home and when she is out and about. The woman requires personal care including assistance to the toilet, showering, stoma care and domestic tasks (cooking, washing, ironing, cleaning).
Details
- Hours: Thursdays overnight: 6.30pm-8am (staff are not expected to stay awake).
- Daytimes 9.00am-6.00pm (flexible).
- Rates of pay:
- Daytime (7am-11pm) £13.50 per hour
- Overnight (11pm-7am) £92.00 flat rate
- Location: Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne
Shifts
- Each PA will be required to do 1-2 shifts per week (negotiable) across the full week.
- Current vacancies for the following shifts:
- Thursdays overnight: 6.30pm-8am (staff are not expected to stay awake)
- Daytimes 9.00am-6.00pm (flexible)
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, e.g. assisting to go to the toilet, showering, stoma care.
- Domestic tasks (cooking, washing, ironing, cleaning).
- Support the woman in the home and when out and about.
Requirements
- No previous experience required as full training will be provided.
- Applicants need to be physically fit.
- There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
- At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
