Female Personal Assistant wanted for a young-minded 19-year-old with a warm heart and a beautifully creative spirit. She has a special love for her teddies and reborn dolls, which bring her comfort and joy. Animals mean the world to her and she loves being surrounded by nature. She has a creative heart, enjoys arts and crafts, writing her thoughts and stories, listening to music, and watching her favourite Disney films along with fascinating discovery programmes about the world around her. She loves spending time on her iPad, exploring technology, and playing games like Connect 4. She enjoys learning to cook and being outdoors, especially when she can connect with nature and animals. Family is very important to her — she lives at home with her Mam and stepdad, where she feels safe and supported.

Role Description

Personal Assistant with experience and an understanding of Autism, learning disabilities and mental health is needed. Must be able to provide compassionate, person-centred support to encourage independence, wellbeing, and active engagement in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage and support access to the community, including participation in areas of personal interest.
  • Promote and support positive mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Encourage and prompt engagement in meaningful activities such as art, music, exercise, and walks.
  • Support confidence-building through outings, including drives in familiar areas with gradual increases in distance (graded exposure).
  • Encourage independence while remaining mindful of individual limitations, safety, and risk awareness.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of independent living skills.
  • Support with and administer medication in line with agreed guidelines.
  • Provide support with appointments, including online and telephone arrangements.
  • Provide occasional overnight support to enable parental respite (maximum of two overnight stays per month).

  • Use intuition and a person-centred approach to effectively engage and encourage independence.

  • DBS and references required.
  • There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
