What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone who is passionate about disability equality and inclusion, and who shares our belief that lived experience should be at the heart of leadership. Our ideal Treasurer will bring experience in financial management, accounting, or charity finance, along with a good understanding of governance and compliance. Experience in bid writing, grant funding, or income generation would be a real advantage, as we continue to grow and strengthen our impact as a small charity.
You don’t need to be a qualified accountant, but you should feel comfortable analysing financial information, communicating it clearly to others, and supporting good financial decision-making at Board level.

What will you be doing? Disability Equals Ability is a small charity dedicated to promoting equality, accessibility, and representation. We’re looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees — someone who can help guide our finances and strengthen our ability to grow sustainably.
As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the charity’s financial health and helping the board make confident, strategic decisions. You’ll oversee our budgets and financial reports, ensure proper controls are in place, and advise on how our funds can best support our mission and community work.
You’ll also:
- Lead on financial policy development, including reserves, investment, and risk management.
- Support the creation of clear, accessible financial reports for the Board.
