This role is crucial to ensuring that Disability Equals Ability remains financially sustainable as we grow our reach and deepen our impact. Responsibilities include:

What are we looking for?
- Passion for disability equality and inclusion, with a belief that lived experience should be at the heart of leadership.
- Experience in financial management, accounting, or charity finance, along with a good understanding of governance and compliance.
- Experience in bid writing, grant funding, or income generation would be a real advantage.
- Comfortable analysing financial information and communicating it clearly to others.
- Knowledge of charity finances, budgeting, and financial controls.
- Ability to develop financial policies and systems proportionate for a small, volunteer‑led organisation.
- Experience in sourcing or managing funding, grants, or partnerships.

What will you be doing?
As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the charity’s financial health and helping the board make confident, strategic decisions. You’ll oversee our budgets and financial reports, ensure proper controls are in place, and advise on how our funds can best support our mission and community work.
- Present budgets, management accounts, and annual financial statements to the Board.
- Lead on financial policy development, including reserves, investment, and risk management.
- Support the creation of clear, accessible financial reports for the Board.
- Oversee the implementation of sound financial systems and ensure compliance with charity regulations.
- Act as a counter‑signatory on charity cheques and funding applications when needed.
- Advise on the financial implications of our strategic and operational plans.
