Location: Guildford
Hours: Saturdays, Half terms and Holiday Periods – 8:30am to 5:30pm each day, plus up to 3 hours administration a week and leader evening once a month 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Challengers is searching for an engaging and playful Leader to join our Guildford scheme. Supported by our dedicated team of service managers, you will plan and deliver a range of exciting and engaging activities for disabled children.

About us:
Challengers is a voluntary sector organisation providing play and leisure services to disabled children and young people across Surrey, Hampshire and in Richmond, Kingston, and Chichester. Our values are accountable, ambitious, inclusive, playful and trustworthy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Champion and advocate of positive play, youth and leisure for disabled children and young people.
- Liaise regularly with the line manager and/or head of service regarding any issue that requires support to deliver service to children and young people at Challengers.
- Supervise all aspects of the on-day care of children and young people (including the administration of medication) who attend Challengers schemes, encouraging and supporting them to fully realise their abilities in a fun and happy environment.
- Manage staff while being a role model and providing ongoing support and encouragement in an appropriate manner.
- Contribute to effective liaison and working arrangements between Challengers schemes, children, their families, schools, local authority departments, other centres and other organisations in the locality.
- Deliver schemes in accordance with Challengers systems, policies and procedures and participate in and contribute to the development of Challengers schemes and systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience leading and motivating a team.
- Experience working with disabled children and young people – providing care.
- Experience providing leisure services.
- Skills in administration.
- Resilience.
