As part of our ongoing development and organisational developments, we are currently seeking a Finance Officer to support and work alongside our already brilliant Finance Team.
This role will be essential in maintaining the financial health of Disability Action and supporting our efforts to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
The successful candidate will report into the Finance Team Leader/s.
Key Responsibilities The responsibilities for the Finance Office will include: Raise sales invoices, post purchase invoices, and post journal Check monthly creditor statements and follow up on queries or missing invoices Verify invoices on suggested payment lists for accuracy and process payments Monitor aged debtors and follow up on outstanding payments Monitor, administer, analyse, and post petty cash journals Post cheque journals, cashbook, reconcile bank accounts, petty cash analysis, prepare bank lodgements, and maintain accurate credit card analysis and reconciliation.
Conduct income and expenditure analysis Assist with claims to funders and audit preparation Monitor and manage the Finance inbox Enter expenses into the payroll system and assist with payroll processing Gather and submit DETI forms online Ensure all data is handled in compliance with GDPR and organisational data protection policies Support with the preparation of VAT returns or other tax-related filings Maintain and improve financial controls to prevent fraud or errors Assist with external auditors, funders, or regulatory bodies Ensure compliance with record-retention policies for financial documents Identify and implement improvements in bookkeeping processes Adhere to the organisations financial policies and procedures Scan, file and organise documents when required Perform any other duties required to fulfil the role Essential Criteria Experience with computerised accounts packages Experience using Microsoft Office packages At least 2 years experience working in a finance office.
