Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring efficient and smooth service.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensuring all policies are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
  • Deliver high volume periods through exceptional organisation and leadership.

Financial & Business Performance:

  • Manage kitchen budgets, control food costs, and monitor wastage.
  • Ensure efficient stock control and inventory management.
  • Work closely with senior management to achieve financial targets and profitability.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing kitchen team.
  • Conduct regular staff training to enhance skills and ensure best practices.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manage kitchen team schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Work closely with the GM and BDM to deliver exceptional large scale events.

Customer Experience & Brand Standards:

  • Ensure guests receive a high-quality and memorable dining experience.
  • Take customer feedback into account and implement necessary improvements.
  • Maintain The Piano Works’ brand identity in all food offerings.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or live music venue.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Passion for food, innovation, and high-quality service.
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with cost control and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
