It is a membership organisation representing the creative, economic and contractual interests of over 8,500 members – the majority of working TV and film directors in the UK. It also campaigns and lobbies on its members’ behalf and provides a range of services including legal advice, events and career development.

Working across our Membership department, this role coordinates and supports the delivery and organisation of our events and careers and skills activity for our Directors UK members. The focus of the role is split between the Events team and the Careers & Skills Development team with the main focus (70-80%) on events.

Reporting to: Career Development and Skills Manager

Working closely with our Career Development and Skills Manager to coordinate programmes and priorities and be responsible for the coordination of Career Development and Skills (CDS) activity, administration, venue and catering booking/management.

  • Event management and delivery on the day, liaising with venue, AV, speakers, partners and managing attendees, at select screenings and other events.
  • Participation management for CDS sessions including welcoming, providing drinks etc, networking and introducing participants to one another.
  • Answering and directing general queries from the Training and Events inboxes and actioning when appropriate.
  • Collaborate in the planning process, keeping up with industry news and contributing ideas in meetings (in conjunction with the Events and CDS Managers).

Excellent AV and IT skills including experience of delivering webinars via Zoom. Excellent customer service, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Discrete, with an awareness of handling confidential data, and understanding of GDPR. Understanding of the creative industries, specifically film and television. Experience of working in a membership organisation, and the dynamic of delivering member services and programmes.

The post holder will be required to travel throughout the UK. To be able to work varying hours including regular evening and occasional weekend work.

Work Days: Monday to Friday including evening events and occasional weekends (with Time off in lieu)

Location: This role may be split between working at our Directors UK office at 33 Great Sutton Street, London, EC1V 0DX and working remotely, plus some UK travel for events.

Contract: 12M FTC

Holidays: 25 days per year plus all public and bank holidays (pro rata)
