Medistra Group is seeking a senior Business Development Director & Product Owner with direct experience in aesthetic medicine, medical devices, dermal fillers, skin boosters, injectable products, pharmaceutical distribution or clinic-facing medical sales. The successful candidate must understand both the product and the market: what the company produces, how regulated aesthetic medical products are positioned, how clinics and practitioners adopt them, how distributors make purchasing decisions, and how repeat sales are built. The role will combine business development leadership with product ownership. The candidate will be expected to identify distributors, build clinic and practitioner relationships, shape the commercial product proposition, support pricing strategy, and help create a scalable UK, European and international sales platform.

Purpose of the Role

  • Build Medistra Group’s commercial presence in the UK, Europe and selected international markets.
  • Develop distributor, clinic, practitioner, KOL and strategic partner relationships.
  • Own the commercial product proposition, including market positioning, pricing logic, sales materials and launch execution.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Finance Director to ensure that growth is commercially realistic, margin-protective and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Market Expansion
    • Identify and approach suitable distributors, clinic groups, aesthetic practitioners, medical wholesalers, online B2B platforms and strategic partners.
    • Build a qualified commercial pipeline across priority markets.
    • Negotiate pricing, minimum order volumes, territory rights, exclusivity, launch commitments and payment structures.
    • Secure first orders, repeat orders and structured distribution agreements.
  • Product Ownership
    • Act as the internal commercial owner of the product portfolio.
    • Understand product specification, clinical use, treatment areas, target practitioner profile, competitor positioning and lifecycle opportunities.
    • Translate practitioner and distributor feedback into product, packaging, pricing and marketing recommendations.
    • Support product launch sequencing and range expansion decisions.
  • Sales Strategy and Revenue Growth
    • Create a practical sales plan by country, channel and partner type.
    • Build pricing ladders for distributor, sub-distributor, clinic and practitioner channels.
    • Work with the Finance Director on sales forecasts, cash‑flow assumptions, margin protection and distributor.
    • Track pipeline value, conversion rates, order volumes and repeat purchasing behaviour.
  • Distributor and Partner Management
    • Qualify distributors based on sector experience, clinic network, sales capability, regulatory awareness.
    • Manage distributor performance and recommend expansion, adjustment or termination where required.
    • Protect the brand’s commercial integrity and avoid uncontrolled discounting or weak territory arrangements.

Required Candidate Profile

  • Direct experience in aesthetic medicine, dermal fillers, skin boosters, injectable products, medical devices, pharmaceutical distribution, cosmetic dermatology or clinic‑facing healthcare sales.
  • Existing understanding of how aesthetic products are sold into clinics and distributed through B2B networks.
  • Ability to speak credibly with doctors, aesthetic practitioners, clinic owners, distributors, trainers and medical sales teams.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills and clear understanding of pricing, margins and distributor economics.
  • Ability to operate in a founder‑led growth company where structure is being built, not simply inherited.
  • Existing distributor, clinic, KOL or practitioner network would be highly advantageous.

Recommended Compensation Structure

  • The role should be advertised with a salary range rather than a single figure, because the value of the appointment will depend heavily on the candidate’s existing network, industry credibility and ability to convert revenue quickly.
  • Recommended senior hire £75,000‑£95,000 per annum through commission and milestone bonuses.
  • Exceptional industry candidate £95,000‑£120,000 per annum, major distributor and revenue targets are achieved.
  • Lower‑risk launch structure months. Commission on paid orders.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Qualified distributor meetings and signed distribution agreements.
  • First orders and repeat orders secured.
  • Monthly and quarterly sales pipeline value.
  • Gross margin protection and pricing discipline.
  • Number and quality of active clinic, practitioner and KOL relationships.
  • Successful product launch milestones by territory.
  • Quality of market intelligence and product improvement recommendations.

Salary Benchmarking Note

The suggested range reflects current UK market benchmarks for Business Development Director, healthcare business development and medical/product‑owner roles, adjusted upward for the hybrid nature of this appointment and the need for industry‑specific commercial access. The role should be presented as a senior commercial leadership appointment with performance‑linked upside, not as a basic sales vacancy.
