This includes overseeing staff scheduling, coaching and supporting the team, and ensuring every patient receives a welcoming, professional experience from arrival to collection of eyewear. The Store Manager will manage sales, stock, and merchandising, monitor store performance, and support the delivery of high‑quality clinical services by coordinating effectively with optometrists and other team members. The role also involves handling customer queries and feedback, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining accurate records, cash handling, and banking procedures. In addition, the Store Manager will ensure compliance with practice policies, health and safety standards, and NHS guidelines, while helping to drive local marketing activities and community engagement.

- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact clearly and respectfully with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Awareness of Retail Loss Prevention practices, including cash handling controls, stock accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in optical or healthcare retail is highly desirable; familiarity with NHS processes and optical products (lenses, frames, and contact lenses) is a plus.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a busy practice environment.
- Comfortable using practice management or point‑of‑sale systems, with good general IT skills.
