Intake Quality Controller (QC) wanted in Bury St Edmunds
PAY: From £13.57 per hour
HOURS: 06:00 - 14:30
DAYS: Monday - Friday
Direct Table Foods is recruiting for a full-time Intake QC to join its team. Direct Table Foods is one of the UK’s leading bacon, gammon and sausage processors. Based in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, we have a rich heritage stretching back more than 50 years and a strong vision for the future.
Role Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the delivery of all functional demands
- Ensuring processes and procedures are followed
- Supporting company efforts to raise quality standards, and improve team working and communication
- Championing health and safety on site, ensuring colleagues work in a safe environment
- Being commercially aware to help introduce cost reduction measures
- Monitoring departmental KPIs and ensuring targets are achieved and improved upon
- Ensuring the business is compliant throughout
- Auditing of Quality Management System (QMS), process, GMP, fabrication and Hygiene
- Verification of hygiene standards (ATP, Visual, Environmental Swabbing) and temperature control
- Verifying key equipment used in the QMS, such as temperature probes, scales, salt analysis
- Investigating customer complaints, supplier non‑conformances and internal non‑conformances
- Sample collecting, registration and sensory evaluation testing
- Providing training and support, where required
- Creating a food‑safety culture
- Liaising with support functions, as required, to support the site/business strategy
- Supporting and answering team queries in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills And Experience Desired:
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety
- Working knowledge of computer systems, such as Word, Excel, email, PowerPoint and databases
- Experience of working within a food‑based manufacturing industry
- Experience of working to food accreditation standards and customer codes of practice
- Experience of working with diverse teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Internal auditor certification desired
