Salary £33,000. Direct Table Foods is one of the UK’s leading bacon, gammon and sausage processors. Based in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, we have a rich heritage stretching back more than 50 years and a strong vision for the future.
Join our Planning Department as our new Purchasing Planner. In this role, you will manage the raw stock levels of all materials arriving on site. We are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm, organisational skills and an inquisitive personality. This will allow you to interact with all other departments as you ensure stock levels are always where we require them. The Role Includes The Following:
- Operating a bespoke set of tools tailored to Direct Table’s requirements
- Manage customer and commercial forecasts using newly developed tools to provide accurate medium-range demand data to generate weekly plans
- Encompassing the planning of raw materials, packaging and ingredients for the specified department
- Schedule incoming deliveries to achieve a just in time operation to satisfy customer demand
- Scheduling of daily work streams to provide an achievable plan
- Liaising with operational, technical compliance and engineering departments to facilitate production, hygiene and maintenance schedules
- Working closely with our Master Data team for the provision of core planning data
- Full training provided to operate and maintain planning tools
- Cross-function training to provide cover for all work streams
Skills & Experience Required For This Role:
- Previous planning or purchasing experience will be advantageous
- Ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Computer literate – competent in Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to demonstrate a broad business awareness
- Working with the highest level of attention to detail is critical
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate stock levels
