A prestigious education group is seeking an experienced People Advisor to provide expert HR support and guidance to employees and managers across its London-based settings. This role is central to managing the entire employee lifecycle while ensuring strict compliance with legal and educational standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Head with a dotted line to the People Business Partner, you will be responsible for HR processes ranging from recruitment and onboarding to complex employee relations. You will act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing advice on employment law, conflict resolution, and policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Manage disciplinary, performance, and grievance cases from inception to conclusion in collaboration with managers.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, and conducting onboarding for new starters.
- HR Administration & Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records and the Single Central Record (SCR) to ensure compliance with data protection and legal requirements.
- Operational Support: Oversee contract administration, salary updates, benefits, and leave management while ensuring accurate data entry into the HRIS.
- Wellbeing & Inclusion: Promote mental health and wellness programs and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all settings.
- Policy & Reporting: Update HR policies and the employee handbook, and analyse HR data to report on metrics such as turnover and absenteeism.
Requirements
- Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Previous experience as an HR Advisor with a strong background in case management, HR administration, and the full employee lifecycle.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Knowledge: Strong, proven understanding of UK employment law and its practical application.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, a self-starter mindset, and the ability to build influential relationships at all levels of the organisation.
